PT-141
Updated April 28, 2026
Primary Benefits:
- Increases sexual desire and arousal in men and women
- Enhances erectile function via central nervous system pathways
- Non-hormonal alternative to traditional ED treatments
- May improve sexual satisfaction and performance
Mechanism of Action:
PT-141 (Bremelanotide) is a melanocortin receptor agonist that acts on the central nervous system, particularly the MC4R receptor, to stimulate sexual desire and arousal. Unlike PDE5 inhibitors like Viagra, PT-141 works through the brain and not the vascular system, making it suitable for individuals with psychological or non-vascular causes of sexual dysfunction.
