About SS-31
SS-31, also known as elamipretide, is a mitochondria-targeted tetrapeptide studied for its interaction with cardiolipin in the inner mitochondrial membrane.
Research models associate SS-31 with improved mitochondrial membrane stability, reduced oxidative stress, and support for cellular energy production in tissues with high energy demand. It is commonly studied in mitochondrial dysfunction, cardiac, muscular, neurodegenerative, and age-related cellular stress models.
